ABA League Australia International Player Program!
The ABA League Australia has launched our ILP – International Player Program. We are reaching out to talented players. As our league grows we are always looking out for new talent and so are many of the teams and coaches we work with internationally.
To date we have helped 9 players get overseas gigs playing ball and they all received money – apartment and transportation. The good part is in 2022 we did not play ball here in Australia due to Covid and not many teams signing up to take part for the season, yet we still were able to help these guys get opportunities overseas in USA and Europe.
We are still the new kids on the block – but in the USA we have 180 plus teams that work with former NBA players and coaches and our radio show ABA 1 On 1 we have been meeting people like Buzz Peterson who was Michael Jordans best man and college roommate and now the GM of Michael Jordan’s NBA team.
On our show Buzz told us he is looking for new talent everywhere and if we ever have someone he needs to see just let him know. The Charlotte Hornets have scouts that travel around the world even to Australia. Australia seems to be a hot spot for new NBA talent – with some great young talent getting unique opportunities like:
- Ben Simmons
- Jock Landale
- Josh Green
- Josh Giddy
- Dyson Daniels
There have also been players in the USA that knew that they would not make the NBA draft and came to Australia to play and ended up getting NBA opportunities! There is no doubt that Australia basketball is really changing and with only 10 teams in the NBL and a country of 25 million people you can see that in the NBL alone there is not enough room to compensate for all the talent Australia has in basketball.
The ABA can help and we have lots of opportunities here with new teams coming on for 2023 and overseas as well. The ABA is in 5 countries and growing – we are the largest pro league in basketball in the world!
See Todd Johnsons Profile – He never got to play here in Australia – But upon registering with us he was seen by Austin Bats and got the opportunity to play in ABA All Star Weekend event and won a trophy for an event & met some good ABA People – From there he ended up getting an offer from a Spanish Basketball Club and is now playing overseas! Check his profile and video – we are surprised he did not make NBA – but if you know basketball there is a lot of talent that should be there that just did not make it. Todd’s Profile Click Here
We look forward to working with all players, so the best way to get seen is to register with our website FREE and put your profile – videos – stats on display because you never know who will see you or reach out.
Have a great day – CJ Henderson ABA League Australia – www.abaleagueaustralia.com
